Qualification Details:

1. Walk in selection for engagement of Tradesman Trainees – Trade Apprentices under Apprentices Act, 1961 and Apprenticeship Rules, 1961 in Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai. This selection is only for Apprenticeship training on stipendiary basis:

1. Trade: Turner
2. No of Post: 01
3. Qualification: ITI i.e. National Trade Certificate (NTC) (60% marks) awarded by National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT) in the trade of Turner.

1. Trade: Machinist
2. No of Post: 02
3. Qualification: ITI i.e. National Trade Certificate (NTC) (60% marks) awarded by National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT) in the trade of Machinist.

1. Trade: Carpenter
2. No of Post: 02
3. Qualification: ITI i.e. National Trade Certificate (NTC) (60% marks) awarded by National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT) in the trade of Carpenter.

1. Trade: Welder (G&E)
2. No of Post: 1
3. Qualification: ITI i.e. National Trade Certificate (NTC) (60% marks) awarded by National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT) in the trade of Welder.

1. Trade: Electrician

3. Qualification: ITI i.e. National Trade Certificate (NTC) (60% marks) awarded by National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT) in the trade of Electrician.

3. Training Place: Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai 400 005.

4. Period of Training: As per the guidelines of Apprentices Rules, 1991 and amendment rules.

5. Amount of Stipend: Rs.12,500/- p.m.

Documents Required

Eligible, registered and interested candidates should bring the below mentioned documents (Original and Photocopies) at the time of appearing for walk-in-selection:
1. Printout of Online Application Form with recent passport size photograph.
2. Copy of Apprentice Portal Registration Confirmation email.
3. Identity Proof (Adhar Card / Election Card / PAN Card / Passport / Driving License).
4. Date of Birth Certificate.
5. All Educational Certificates.
6. ITI Mark Sheet and National Trade Certificate.
7. Conduct certificates from two respectable persons.

General Instructions

1. Candidates are required to apply only for designated trade mentioned in clause 2 and candidate should possess ITI certificate in the same trade. Candidates of other Trades need not apply.
Only fresh candidates will be considered for engagement.

2. The engagement and training are strictly in compliance with the provisions of the Apprentices Act 1961 and the appointment will be temporary. Selected Candidate will not have any claim for any permanent or temporary appointment in the Institute either during or after the training period.

3. Those who have already availed the apprenticeship will not be considered. Every Apprentice who has completed the period of training shall appear for All India Trade Test to be conducted by the National Council for Training in Vocational Trade to determine his proficiency in the designated trade in which he served as an Apprentice.

4. The candidates would be given a certificate of proficiency in the trade by the National Council.

Eligible candidates are requested to bring their application form along with original & copies of certificates and appear for walk-in-selection on April 16, 2021 at Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, 1 Homi Bhabha Road, Navy Nagar, Colaba, Mumbai 400005. No TA/DA will be paid for attending walk-in-selection.
Candidates will have to make their own arrangements for stay in Mumbai during the apprenticeship training period.
