Qualification
Having postgraduate degree in Health Sciences of a statutory University with good academic record.
Experience in the field of health sciences education of at least 15 years in teaching and research in a University or well- established institution of repute at the under- graduate and post- graduate level.
Minimum of 5 research publications in peer reviewed or referred national or international research journals or published quality books in a recognized discipline, referenced for study in health sciences education at the National or International level.
Execution of at least one major research project in health sciences.
Experience of organizing events such as workshops, seminars, conferences at national or international level and presented a paper in the field of medical education
Demonstrated experience in leadership.
Pay Scale
The Post carries a pay of 2,10,000/-Fixed per month with special allowance of rupees 11,250/- per month and other usual allowances.
Age Limit
The Appointment will be on contractual basis for a period of five years or upto the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier.
Desirable Qualifications
Preference may be given to a person who has held the administrative experience of minimum three years as a Dean or Principal or Director of Health Science College or Institute
Experience of working on the Statutory Authorities of a Health Sciences university such as Board of Studies, Academic Council, Management Council or Executive Council of Board of Management, Senate, etc
Preferably 5 years experience to guide post graduate students
Experience at the State or National or international level in handling youth development work such as organizing students- centric activities for their allround development and providing them rich campus life as envisaged in the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences Act, 1998.

Skills:
Openness towards Medical technology and a deep conviction regarding its potential application in a knowledge base settings.
Reasonably high level of comfort in the use of Medical technology.
Managerial Skills:
Ability to anticipate issues and problems and prepare advance strategic plans.
Ability to generate resources and allocate the same appropriately.
Capacity to work effectively under pressure and manage work and resources within tight deadlines.
Good understanding of financial management including revenue generation, planning and fiscal control.
Alignment with corporate objectives and State as well as National level priorities:
Ability to identify the needs of the communities in health sectors.
Deep understanding of the challenges before the nation and how Medical Education can respond to developmental needs.
Demonstrable understanding of curriculum development issues, especially those relating to widening participation and social inclusion. iv. Leadership Skills:
Exceptional ability to motivate a diverse group of stakeholders.
Keen desire to further the mission and goals of Health Science Institutes.
Ability to think strategically and innovatively and maintain a broad perspective.
Ability to lead by personal example with openness to new ideas and a consultative approach in implementation of the same.
Interpersonal Communication and collaborative skills:
Demonstrable success in developing and executing National and International collaborative arrangement.
Ability to interact effectively and persuasively with a strong knowledge base at senior levels and in large forums as well as on a one-to-one basis.
Evidence of being an active member of professional bodies and association in pertinent fields.
